Osteopathic Physician

About Osteopathic Medicine

What is a DO? In the United States, doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, or DOs, are fully licensed physicians who practice in all areas of medicine. Emphasizing a whole-person approach to treatment and care, DOs are trained to listen and partner with their patients to help them fully fulfill their health potential.

Like MDs, DOs attend four years of medical school, then complete residency training in hospitals and clinics in their given specialty. In addition to classic medical training, ostheopathic physicians receive a foundation in ostheopathic principles and ostheopathic manipulative medicine. DOs learn to look beyond the symptoms of illness and disease to examine the whole patient, and partner with patients to help prevent illness and injury. DOs are trained to promote the body's natural tendency towards health and self healing, we practice according to the latest science and use the latest technology.

Services Offered

  • Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) is a hands-on approach for easing musculoskeletal pain and other health conditions. Dr. Salom utilizes several techniques including craniosacral therapy, muscle energy, myofascial release, strain counterstrain, trigger point pressure, lymphatic drainage and more to diagnose structural imbalances and help your body function better.

  • Family medicine is a broad medical specialty focused on providing comprehensive, continuing, and personalized care for individuals and families across all ages and stages of life. Dr. Salom is trained to handle a wide range of health issues, from preventative care and routine checkups to managing chronic conditions and addressing acute illnesses. She offers longer appointment times to be able to work with you and determine the best treatment plan.

  • During the immigration medical appointment Dr. Salom will perform your medical exam, review your medical records and order the indicated blood tests or vaccinations to be done at an outside lab and pharmacy where you can use your insurance to pay for the tests. If you do not have insurance, we can provide lower cost options on where to do the labs and vaccines. After receiving all the results I will complete the paperwork and review it with you, before placing it in the required sealed envelope for you to turn in with your immigration package.
